Our impressions:
"Performing in Italy was a valuable experience for '3 is a crowd', not only because we had the chance to adapt the piece to outdoor public places, but also because we could share the piece in a different country with another audience mindset and public perception. This I believe made the piece even richer. Furthermore, we brought dance art and performances into locations, where there was not much dance visibility before. This was appreciated widely by the public and the organisations."
"The performance has grown so much since our premier in March 2017. Our tour in Italy showed among others how well we are able to adapt, but still keep the core and material of the piece alive and communicating. Also we grew as a team: enjoying new challenges, supporting each other and dancing together as a crowd!" |

"Our Italian adventure was welcoming, beautiful and offered the right moments to connect with new audiences. This trip revealed that in a true dance sense, 3 is a Crowd translates without words. People were moved by the themes of awkwardness, connection from a distance and touch. We were able to dance in, around and with people; they felt both unsure and happy to experience this, which is exactly how we’ve experienced it with our Dutch or International audiences.
We realised that 3 is a Crowd is a true site-specific work. We are able to transfer the choreography to many different situations, outside in a town square, a pop-up bar or plaza, and we can successfully navigate around the scene that is presented to us."
